Bandwidth-constraint specification for VMDConfig::alpha.
VMD’s mode bandwidth in normalized frequency [0, 0.5] is 1/√(2α),
independent of signal length N. Empirically a length-based auto-scaling
rule (e.g. α ∝ N) makes recovery accuracy worse at larger N — the
normalized bandwidth shrinks and modes near low frequencies miss their
targets. We therefore default to the paper’s α = 2000 regardless of
N. Use AlphaSpec::Fixed to pin any other value.

This enum is marked as non-exhaustive
Non-exhaustive enums could have additional variants added in future. Therefore, when matching against variants of non-exhaustive enums, an extra wildcard arm must be added to account for any future variants.
PaperDefault
Paper default α = 2000. Works well across signal lengths because
VMD’s bandwidth is parameterized in normalized frequency, not in
physical Hz; see AlphaSpec docs for why a length-based rule
degrades recovery.
Fixed(f64)
Fixed α. Use for exact reproducibility of a published result that
pinned a non-default value.
